New Release at Resting Bell: Midland [rb057]

Ambitar Radio Plays Complex Silence

Ok, there was a switch in the airplay for Complex Silence on April 17 and 18.

As it turned out, Allen Goodman, who hosts the weekly Ambitar Radio show on StillStream.com, featured airplay for Complex Silence on his April 17th show. Many thanks, Allen!

Allen's show is followed by Mark Stolk's NTNS Radio show, also airing weekly on StillStream.

So since Allen played Complex Silence, Mark's April 18 show featured a pre-release preview of Midland, which will be released by the Resting Bell netlabel later this month.

So a huge dual thank-you to both Allen and Mark for featuring two my new works, back-to-back, on their respective radio shows!!

And it would certainly be remiss of me to neglect this opportunity to once again thank Darrell Burgan (aka Palancar) and all the ultra-cool folks associated with StillStream for their ongoing support and encouragement!!

Coming Soon: Complex Silence [tmth052]

Jon 7 let me know today that TimeTheory will be releasing my project there soon. The release is entitled Complex Silence and consists of two longform tracks:

1. As Far As Infinity Goes (26:20)
2. The Moment Without A Beyond (25:20)

These tracks represent a new artistic direction for me. Rather than "beautiful" ambient, these tracks are enigmatic and abstract, with extremely subtle shades of movement, which Jon 7 describes like this: "I like the play between harmonic and dissonant parts, where old notes still ringing out clash or blend with new ones coming in..."

There are more plans in the works in conjunction with this project, including a CD release, and those details will be forthcoming shortly.

Cheers, ~o/>9!

Over at Last.fm, Todd ( aka zerofish9 and ~o/>9 ) is one of the busiest guys I know, selflessly building groups and networks (and maybe even groups of networks!) for the purpose of promoting ambient artists, music, and communities of ambient music fans.

At last.fm, Todd is the leader of the ambiOfusion and neOambient Earth Network groups. Here are the links:

www.last.fm/group/ambiOfusion

www.last.fm/group/neOambient+Earth+Network

But that's not all!

Todd has built ambiOfusion at Ning! as well:

ambiO@ning

And coming soon at Ning!, he is working on a mirror for the NeOambient Earth Network! The guy is tireless!

He was one of my first friends at Last.fm and his was one of the first groups to add me as an ambient artist there. Over the past couple of years, Todd has always, always, been encouraging and supportive of my musical efforts. So it's way past time for me to say, THANK YOU! and THANK YOU! for your efforts to promote ALL the ambient artists that you welcome into your groups!

If you have an account at Last.fm, add Todd as a friend and join his groups. Or, if you are at Ning!, join his group(s) there, too. Or join them all!

Cheers, ~o/>9!

Thanks, AmbientVisions.com!

Many thanks to Michael Foster, Editor at AmbientVisions.com for posting a link to Phil's latest CD, Early Works, on the main AV landing page.

Michael was one of the first editor's to encourage and promote my earliest efforts way back in '07 when I released Amorphous Worlds....

You can get all the latest updates on artists and new releases in the ambient genre at AmbientVisions, so add it to your favorites. Most of all, let Michael know you appreciate his efforts!

LoungingSound.com

I recently spotted my good friend Jourdan Laik, owner of LoungingSound.com, sporting a Lounging Sound t-shirt and I just had to have one of my own.

Stop by www.loungingsound.com for the ultra-chilled, ultra-ambient, ultra-progressive, ultra-coolest internet radio station, artists, and music in the galaxy. And while you're there, drop Jourdan a note and let him know how much you dig his radio station.

Ambientgroove.net

I received an email from Jake the other day about a new project he has launched called ambientgroove.net that promises to be a pretty cool endeavor.

He was kind enough to include two tracks from Still Point in the very first edition podcast. How cool is that?

Other artists in the first podcast include fellow Earth Mantra artist extraordinaire Altus, Sleepy Town Manufacture, and one of my new favorites, fellow bypass Label artist, Mel.

Be sure to check Jake's website now and again for new releases of ambientgroove. I know I will!

Bing Satellites Podcast

Brin at Bing Satellites network sent me an email on myspace the other day. He was kind enough to include a track from Incidents in Spring in his recent podcast:

Check out all the great artists and podcasts that Brin has put together. It's an awesome project that airs on Rebel Radio.

Coming Soon: TimeTheory Release

As announced in Jon 7's myspace blog, there is indeed a Phillip Wilkerson project on the cusp of finalization, to be released on the TimeTheory Netlabel in the near-time future.

You can find some additional hints here:

Jon 7 is patiently awaiting Phil's final track selection and artwork, hopefully to be completed and sent to Jon 7 for approval on April 4 or 5.

COMING SOON: Resting Bell Project

Christian Roth, the curator at Resting Bell netlabel, notified me over the weekend that my EP project there is slated for release on June 18.

Christian is also contributing the artwork for the release and I'm excited about his concepts for the music. It promises to be quite a beautiful package.

Stop by the Resting Bell website and check out all the current releases and artists!
